Breshna Kot canal reconstruction started in Nuristan

KABUL: Reconstruction work on the Breshna Kot canal worth 8.4 million Afghani (some 116,826 U.S. dollars) has been started in the country’s eastern province of Nuristan, Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS) said in a statement the other day. The aim behind the project is to protect the electricity supply by effectively managing the river water, the statement said. With a length of 90 meters and a height of 3.70 meters, the canal is being reconstructed to generate electricity. Hundreds of people would be provided with job opportunities in the project.
