FAIZABAD: A car bomb went off early Tuesday morning martyring Nesar Ahmad Ahmadi the Deputy Governor of Badakhshan province, officials confirmed. “A car bomb blast happened at about 8:15 am early Tuesday morning, near the court building in the provincial capital, Faizabad, the provincial of information and culture director Mawlavi Mazuddin Ahmadi told media. The deputy governor of the province was martyred and 6 others sustained injuries in the deadly incident, said Ahmadi. The injured individuals’ health conditions were reported critical, according to the statement. No one immediately claimed responsibility for the bombing in the province. A car bombing last December killed Badakhshan’s police chief as he was on his way to work. Security personnel has launched investigations to identify and arrest the perpetrators. The Kabul Times
