Beggars collection committee holds meeting

KABUL: Under the Chairmanship of the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, Mullah Abdul Ghani Beradar Akhund, the Beggar Collecting Committee was held at the Marmarin palace to assess the distribution of aid to beggars, his office said in a statement Saturday. Mullah Beradar stressed the importance of collecting beggars from the Kabul city and said assessment should be conducted to determine deserving recipients of cash and food aid, according to the statement. “The Islamic Emirate has always been committed to address the challenges faced by underprivileged citizens, particularly beggars, with the aim of providing them with a more prosperous life in the country,” the statement quoted Beradar as saying. The Beggar Collecting Committee also decided tha the Ministry of Hajj and Religious Affairs should be engaged in public awareness campaigns regarding the worldly and spiritual. The Kabul Times
