Azizi, Pakistani officials discuss trade, transit issues via online meeting

KABUL: The Acting Minister of Industry and Commerce Nooruddin Azizi, in an online meeting, with Mohammad Khuram Agha, the Pakistani Deputy Commerce Minister, discussed strengthening trade and transit between the two countries, the ministry said in a statement on Tuesday. The meeting discussed several important issues including addressing the challenges facing trade and transit in the borders of the two countries and increasing the trade volume between Kabul and Islamabad, the statement said. Addressing the online meeting, Nooruddin Azizi emphasized removing trade and transit barriers, providing necessary facilities, establishing close relations between the government and the private sectors of the two countries, and increasing regional cooperation, the statement added. Also, the acting industry and commerce minister invited the Pakistani deputy commerce minister to come to Kabul and discuss the relevant issues closely. The Kabul Times
