Australian solider arrested for killing Afghan farmer, media

KABUL: A former Australian soldier has been arrested for the killing of an Afghan farmer, during the foreign forces mission in Afghanistan, a media reported the other day.
The Australian trooper was the first to become the first soldier being charged with a war crime committed in Afghanistan, according to reports.
Oliver Schulz 41 who completed several tours of Afghanistan, was detained at Jindabyne in New South Wales, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) reported.
The Australian Federal Police arrested the ex-soldier following a year-long probe into the killing of a farmer during a 2012 raid in Afghanistan. Charged with the war crime under the Commonwealth Criminal Code, Schulz may appear before Sydney’s Downing Center Local Court, according to the media.
According to ABC, the charge relates to the shooting of Dad Mohammad during an Australian Defense Force raid in May 2012 in Uruapan province.
