Assisting flood-affected people our religious, national responsibility

Unfortunately, due to the devastating and destructive effects of the flash floods in the country, many of our compatriots and fellow citizens have lost their lives, a significant number have been left homeless, and their agricultural lands have been washed out. Based on the reports, many individuals, including children and women, have tragically lost their lives due to the severe flooding in the provinces. Videos shared on social media pertaining to the flooded areas reveal extensive damage to residents’ homes, implying disastrous occurrences and resulting in substantial financial hardships for the people in provinces including Baghlan, Badakhshan, Herat, Ghor, and so on. Now, it is imperative for both the government and the nation, particularly humanitarian agencies, local business people, and the nation’s investors, to promptly and without hesitation offer aid to those affected by the floods and deliver urgent assistance. The circumstances are dire across many regions, with individuals facing significant and hazardous obstacles. Baghlan, Kunduz, Takhar, Badakhshan, Samangan, Herat, and Ghor are among the provinces hit hardest by the floods, with Baghlan reporting a higher death toll. We hope that in this critical moment, all people become aware of the situation of the flood victims and hasten to provide them with assistance, support, and comfort. Furthermore, we urge the officials of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan to accelerate relief operations in the flood-affected areas and extend all possible assistance to those impacted by the disaster. The Islamic Emirate should ask all the organizations, including aid agencies and the country’s merchants and business people, to focus on the flood-affected areas so that they can be supported financially and materially and receive assistance during these sensitive and sorrowful circumstances. Additionally, it is the responsibility of Mullah Imams and religious scholars to inspire and rally individuals to support the flood victims. In these unpleasant and challenging times, they should swiftly offer solace, aid, and consolation to those suffering from this disaster. Even though the Afghan people, known for their strong sense of compassion, humanity, and bravery, have consistently extended support to the affected and impoverished during these tumultuous times, it is crucial now to take immediate action. It’s essential for people to swiftly assist the afflicted and rescue them from the bitterest conditions of life’s dilemma.
