ARCS hands over 100 houses to quake-affected families in Khost

KHOST: At least 100 homes, in an official ceremony, have been handed over to the quake-affected families in the country’s eastern province of Khost, the Afghan Red Crescent Society (ARCS) said in a statement the other day. The ceremony was attended by the General Director of the ARCS Mawlavi Matiul Haq Khalis and a number of the provincial officials, scholars and elders, the statement said. Addressing the ceremony Mawlavi Khalis said that the houses have been built in the Sapeera district of the province and distributed to the quake-affected families, according to the statement. As a result of the devastating earthquake, hundreds of houses were destroyed, and thousands of people martyred and wounded. The Kabul Times
