ARCS establishes camps for recent quake victims in Herat

KABUL: The General Director of the Afghan Red Crescent Society Mawlavi Matiulhaq Khalis, during his visit from the earthquake-affected areas in the country’s western province of Herat, inaugurated three camps for shelter and basic services for the earthquake’s victims, the ARCS said in a statement Tuesday. Mawlavi Khalis said the ARCS has established three camps for shelter and basic services for the earthquake’s victims in Zinda Jan district of the province, according to the statement. In the meeting with a number of officials of charity organizations in the quake-affected areas, Mawlavi Khalis asked them to provide extensive services for the quake’s victims. Also, the ARCS has started the process of registering and surveying the affected families and people to determine the amount of aid accordingly, the statement added. The Kabul Times
