KABUL: The Islamic Emirate (IEA) delegates led by Mullah Bakht-u-Rehman Sharafat, head of Afghanistan Railways Authority, met with the Special Representative of the President of Uzbekistan, Esmat Aka and Afghan students late last week.
In the meeting, they discussed accelerating railway concerns, better management, increasing transfers from Central Asia, increasing exports and imports, and developing the capacity of railway stations. The meeting decided to activate stations port 4 and 5 in Mazar-e-Sharif and Hairatan port in near future.
In the meeting, the Uzbek side by expressing happiness over improvement of security maintained by the Afghan Ministry of Interior (MoI).
This comes after the ministry of interview assured of providing security for the project.
