MAZAR-E-SHARIF: At least one security personnel has been killed and one IS militants arrested, in a clash between Afghan forces and the IS militants in the northern Balkh province, local official confirmed Tuesday.
The clash happened late on Monday, in the 4th Police District of Mazar-e-Sharif, the provincial capital, resulting in the death of one security personnel and the arrest of another from the IS terrorist group, Mohammad Asef Waziri, a spokesperson to the provincial Police Office said in a statement received by The Kabul Times.
“The militants have been fought back and scattered from the area,” the spokesman said.
