ANSA returns another 30 low-quality oil tankers to Iran

KABUL: The Afghanistan National Standard Authority (ANSA) has returned 30 more oil tankers to Iran, after assessing them as low-quality, the administration said in a statement Wednesday. “At least 30 oil tankers had been stopped in the past one day at the Abu Nasr Farahi ground port of the country’s southern province Farah and returned to the neighboring country of Iran for being low-quality,” the statement said, adding over 6,700 tankers carrying petroleum products in the country’s ports have been quality-stabilized by the authority within only the past month. The National Standard Authority has recently taken necessary steps to prevent the import of low-quality oil and gas into the country. Meanwhile, ANSA’s officials said no one would be allowed to import low-quality oil into the country and asked all national businessmen to import quality goods or they would face the law. The ANSA has earlier returned hundreds of tankers filled with low-quality oil in the country’s western and northern ground ports to the neighboring countries. The Kabul Times
