Another 6 wells activated in Amu oil field, ministry

KABUL: Another 6 oil wells have been activated in the Amu Darya oil basin in the country’s northern region, the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum said in a statement the other day. The ministry’s spokesperson Humayun Afghan said six new oil wells have been activated in the Amu River oil basin, leading to a daily extraction of 1,350 tons, according to the statement. Afghan officials have confirmed that six new oil wells have been activated in the Amu Darya oil basin, leading to a daily extraction level of 1,350 tons. Explaining the total number of active wells in the basin, Humayun Afghan said the active wells are 24, leading to an increase in the daily extraction from 1100 to 1,350 tons. Moreover, he disclosed that by the end of this year, an additional 23 new wells are planned to be activated and with their activation the daily extraction of oil will be reached to 3000 tons.
