Another 2,667 Afghan immigrants deported from Pakistan, Iran in two days, ministry

KABUL: A total of 2,667 Afghan refugees have forcibly been expelled by the Pakistani and Iranian governments in the past two days, the Ministry of Refugees and Repatriations said in a statement Sunday. According to the statement, 712 Afghan refugees have been deported and returned to the country via Torkham and Spin Boldak crossings within the past two days. Also, in the same period, 1,985 people returned from Iran through Islam Qala port in western Herat province. The returnees have been introduced to the aid agencies to receive necessary assistance, the statement said. The expelling process of Afghan nationals living in the neighboring countries has been continued and millions of Afghan immigrants have forcibly or voluntarily returned to the country so far.
