ANDSF should review their combat tactics, lawmakers

Lawmakers in Afghanistan parliament by expressing concern over increasing insecurities in the country are asking the country’s defense and security organs to change their combat tactics and codify a plan to address the ongoing insecurities in the country.
The Upper House of Afghanistan’s national assembly by pointing to increasing of Taliban’s attacks on a number of provinces say Afghan National Defense and Security Forces (ANDSF) should review their war tactics against the Taliban group in the country.
“Afghan national defense and security forces have the capability to fight the enemies as they have defended the country and its people in the most critical circumstances, but they should review their defense and security policy, or increasing threats posed by the enemies will continue,” Afghan senators said.
Hashimi, an Afghan lawmaker, believes that current security situation in Afghanistan is concerning and the situation will not improve without close cooperation of the people.
“Continued attacks and threats posed by armed insurgents in some provinces of the country have caused that the people get disappointed of their future; therefore, the only solution for addressing the current situation is the people’s cooperation with ANDSF and a comprehensive plan for controlling the enemy’s attacks in the country,” Hashimi added.
In the meantime, Ministry of Defense (MoD) says the country’s national defense and security forces with air support have been able to address insecurities in most of the provinces in the country.
According to officials for MoD, currently 10 military operations have been planned in eight provinces of the country where hundreds of armed insurgents have been killed and injured in the operations so far.
On the other hand, Afghan military experts say the country’s defense and security organs have the responsibility to timely supply ANDSF with food and military equipment so that they can strongly fight the enemies and address insecurities in remote areas of the country.
“Currently Taliban have increased their attacks in various provinces in particular Farah, Ghazni and Faryab where we have witnessed the worst security situation for the past few weeks; therefore, it is needed that the country’s defense and security organs codify a comprehensive plan for addressing current insecurities in the country,” said an Afghan military expert Amin Safi.
He said that as a result of military operations launched by Afghan security forces in Farah, security situation in the province has improved, but there is still threat posed by the Taliban in the province, asking the country’s defense and security organs to change their combat tactics in war on terror in the country. It is worth mentioning that armed insurgent groups in particular Taliban have tried repeatedly to take the control of provincial capital of Kunduz, Farah and Ghazni, but the country’s defense and security forces have bravely defended and repulsed their attacks on the respective provinces.
