KABUL: Prime Minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund chaired the Cabinet Meeting the other day, the PM office said in a statement.
The meeting approved the proposal of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, according to which domestic products should be used as much as possible in all agencies of the Islamic Emirate.
“The Ministries of Information and Culture, Hajj and Religious Affairs, Education, Higher Education and other related organs and departments should inform the people about the use of domestic products and the Ministry of Commerce and Industry should encourage the owners of factories for quality products,” according to the statement.
Also, the cabinet meeting assigned a delegation under the chairmanship of the Deputy Minister of Public Works and the Deputy Minister of Transportation and Civil Aviation, the Deputy Attorney General and technical persons to observe the Salang Highway closely and to prepare a plan to address traffic problems and share the report with the next cabinet meeting.
Meanwhile, the committee has been tasked to consider the connection of the alternative transit road for the Salang pass to the northern country’s provinces and that how long it will take to complete the project and with what facilities, according to the statement. In the meeting, the proposals of the Ministry of Economy regarding the revival and activation of cold stores were confirmed, and the Ministries of Industry and Commerce, Finance, Economy, Agriculture and other related bodies should take the necessary steps in this field.
