Afghanistan, UAE resume trade deal after long delay

KABUL: Trade between Afghanistan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has been started after over two years of delay, the state-run Bakhtar News Agency reported the other day. After the establishment of the Islamic Emirate for the first time trade between Afghanistan and the UAE started by transferring 16 tons of commercial goods by the Sky Fly Airline Company to the Mawlana Jalaluddin Mohammad Balkhi International Airport, the agency said. Customs Director of the airport Abdullah Motmaen said due to tireless efforts of the relevant officials trade between the two countries has been kicked off and 16 tons of commodities were imported from the United Arab Emirates to Afghanistan, through Balkh Airport, according to the agency. He added that the starting of the trade between the two countries is a good step towards the development of the country’s economy. The Kabul Times
