KABUL: The General Director of the Afghanistan Railway Authority, Mullah Bakht-ur-Rahman Sharafat, in a meeting with his Turkmen counterpart Atta Meredov in Ashgabat, discussed the establishment of a joint committee for increasing cargo transportation, resolving problems of traders and improving coordination between the two sides, the authority said in a statement the other day. Sharafat, who led the ARA delegation left for Turkmenistan three days ago, said the joint body would be set up to enhance coordination on relevant issues. Atta Meredov said that there has been cooperation between the railway administrations of the two countries, hoping this cooperation will be strengthened and we will work together for the development of railway links between the two countries, according to the statement. The committee would meet every month in an effort to boost cargo transfers, solve traders’ problems and strengthen coordination.
