Afghanistan exports dried fruits worth $2 million to Europe

KABUL: Afghanistan has exported dried fruits and saffron costing U.S. $2 million dollars to the European countries, the ministry of commerce and industry said in a statement released on its twitter.
The export consisted of 120 tons of products including dried fruits and saffron, are expected to reach the European countries via Uzbekistan with 25 days, according to the statement adding the country’s products have become standard and this is why foreign countries are interested in the Afghan products.
The dried fruits and saffron of the country have been exported to Germany, Netherlands, Austria and Belgium, according to the statement.
The statement said the Islamic Emirate, particularly, the ministry of commerce and industry were committed to support the country’s investors, land owners and industrialists of the country.
This is while, 75 tons of pine nuts costing up to 500 million U.S. dollars have earlier been exported to China.
