Afghanistan Cricket Board appoints new chief selector, spokesman

KABUL: Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) said in a statement on Tuesday that it has assigned a new Chief Selector and spokesperson for the board. The former chief selector had stepped down due to some certain reasons, but still works as the member of the ACB’s selection committee, according to the statement. “Asadullah Khan was appointed as the new Chief Selector replacing Noorulhaq Malikzai who stepped down from the position due to some family reasons,” the statement released here to media said. According to the statement, Malikzai will continue to work as the member of the ACB’s selection committee. The new assigned Chief Selector Asadullah Khan has been the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the country’s cricket board and recently worked as the coach of Qatar Cricket Association, the statement added. The selection committee also appointed Sayed Naseem Sadaat as the new spokesperson for the ACB. Mr. Sadaat was selected through an open and transparent test process which was conducted by the committee with membership from the relevant departments. Mr. Sadaat has worked in the media and communication departments in different governmental and non-governmental organizations, such as State Ministry for Parliamentary Affairs, the state-run newspaper, The Kabul Times, Kardan Private University and MSF – Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders).
