Afghan, Turkmen officials discuss electricity issue

KABUL: Officials of the Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat and the head of Turkmenistan’s International Electricity Projects, Murad Artikov held a joint meeting to discuss Noor Jihad substation and TAP projects, the DABS said in a statement Monday. The meeting also discussed the amount and purchase of power to Afghanistan for the year of 2024, the statement said. The works and progress of Noor Jihad substation project have been evaluated and that the technical representatives of both countries had been asked to share their evaluations with the visiting side, the statement quoted. Artikov said that the Noor Jihad substation project will be completed by January 2024, providing Herat province with 70 megawatts of electricity and this level will be increased to 110 megawatts when needed, the statement added.
