KABUL: Students of the Afghan-Turk school won first place in the Thai Science Olympiad by 17 medals in the country’s northern Jawzjan province, Bakhtar News Agency reported the other day.
Mohammad Tahir Jawad, director of education in Jawzjan, said that thousands of students from the country’s 43 provinces have joined an online competition held in the province, where the Afghan-Turk schools’ students won 17 medals, the agency said.
“The students won two gold, one silver, and fourteen bronze medals in the competition,” said the agency.
The launch of such competition encourages students and the recent victory of the Afghan students was a great pride for the country, the agency quoted him as saying. “I and a number of my classmates participated in the Thai science Olympiad, which was held online in Thailand to win honors in the name of Afghanistan and to the people,” said Ahmad Mobin, a student of the Afghan-Turkish School who won a gold medal.
Meanwhile, Abdul Manan Khalil, principle of the Afghan-Turk school in Jawzjan, said that the students of the Afghan-Turk school in Jawzjan were able to show their talent and ability to win gold, silver, and bronze medals for their country.
The students of a private school in Jawzjan have reportedly won 11 medals in the Thai science Olympiad of 2021.
