Advocating for increased assistance to flood-affected people

Unfortunately, the impact of devastating floods has resulted in the martyring and incurring financial losses to our compatriots, destroying their homes and belongings. According to the reports, in the Burka and Gozargah-eNur districts of Baghlan province, a large number of residents were engulfed in the turmoil of floodwaters. The people who were stranded in a completely closed environment lost many of their loved ones. Even their houses were destroyed, and their family members were injured as a result of the flood-related incident. After four days, the full extent of this tragic event has come to light, revealing the depth of the catastrophe. In the midst of this, the people of Baghlan province, already burdened with numerous challenges, have shown incredible strength. It is a great pleasure that the country’s people and the officials of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan took swift and practical action, rushing to aid the flood victims with the resources at their disposal. However, these efforts are not enough. Therefore, national and international aid agencies and organizations should bear the responsibility of supporting, financing and providing life-related materials to the affected people. International organizations, particularly the United Nations and relief agencies, must urgently send assistance and aid packages to the flood-affected people in various provinces of the country. Immediate action is needed to at least provide essential housing, shelter, and appliances to the people who lost everything due to the destructive flood. The victims of the disaster are in dire and highly distressing situations, and their support should be the top priority for everyone. Moreover, the officials of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan took these timely and quick measures to address the disaster and decrease casualties. To conclude, although the extent of the disaster in the country has been widespread, leaving many Afghans without houses and shelter and causing human losses, the actions taken by the officials of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan regarding the recent disaster are deeply appreciated. Their responsible, timely, and sincere efforts have not gone unnoticed.
