Academic treasury of Seyal Kakar submitted to Arg archive

KABUL: President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani participated and delivered speech in a ceremony held on the occasion of submission of hand-written manuscripts of Prof. Seyal Kakar yesterday at Presidential Palace.
In the ceremony held in Arg’s archive, advisor to President on academic and social affairs Dr. Lal Pacha Azmoon said that with the cooperation, support and instruction of the country’s President, they have been able to bring hand-written books and manuscripts of Prof. Seyal Kakar to Kabul.
Praising Prof. Seyal Kakar for collecting the scientific treasury and submitting it voluntarily to Afghanistan for the use of researchers, Dr. Azmoon considered this work of Prof. Seyal Kakar as sign of his practical and academic effort.
Azmoon added that besides 133 hand-written manuscripts written Dari, Pashto and Arabic, 4600 various books and magazines from library of Prof. Seyal Kakar have been submitted to Afghanistan Academy of Sciences.
He delivered his suggestions related to preservation, scanning and submitting copies of the manuscripts to Kabul University, Afghanistan Academy of Sciences and National Museum for researches, saying that a room or part of the institution’s library should be named after Prof. Seyal Kakar as well as a building which was property of Afghanistan government should be specified as a cultural center in Quetta.
In the ceremony, President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani said: “It’s an honor that spiritual investment and treasury of our great personality Prof. Seyal Kakar is submitting to his historic home ‘Afghanistan’. We’ll all provide appreciation letters signed by all to Prof. Seyal Kakar to thank him for doing so.”
“40 years ago, I met Prof. Seyal Kakar in Quetta city. His love, commitment and researches result in honor of all Afghans and researchers. He devoted all years of his life for the development of Pashto language, historic identify of Afghanistan and nurturing of youth,” President Ghani said.
The country’s President instructed relevant officials to name consulate building of Afghanistan to Quetta city after Prof. Seyal Kakar and change it to home of culture of Afghanistan. President Ghani also instructed officials of Afghanistan national archive to scan all hand-written manuscripts of Prof. Seyal Kakar and provide copies to all state run universities of Kandahar, Nangarhar, Balkh, Herat and Bamyan for researching.
