Although there are still problems existing in Afghanistan, considerable progress has been made in various fields since the Islamic Emirate takeover in mid-August 2021. For example, the invasion has ended, overall security situation has improved, economic is growing and exports have increased, the price of main foodstuffs and fuel has reduced, government employees receive regularly their salaries and others. Despite sanctions and increasing political pressures on Afghanistan as well as foreign media increasing propaganda, the country is moving forward. Soon after the Islamic Emirate took over the control of Afghanistan, many economists and analysts used to believe that the Islamic Emirate would face with lots of problems in the field of economics, but unlike their predictions, the eco nomic situation of Afghanistan has improved considerably in the past almost two years. The World Bank in its most recent report has somehow praised the Islamic Emirate for its efforts towards prevention of financial inflation as it said that the inflation rate was 18.3 percent in July 2022, while the rate has reduced considerably in the past one year. “While headline inflation has eased from its peak of year-on-year 18.3 percent in July 2022 to 3.5 percent in February 2023, and 1.94 percent in March. This deceleration in inflation reflects: the continued downward trend in fuel and food prices in the international market and a stable exchange rate,” the report said. The report has also pointed to increasing export rate as Afghanistan has had exports worth $600 million during the first three months of 2023, showing a considerable increase comparing to the first three months of 2022. The Islamic Emirate has lauded a recent report of the World Bank and considered it as Afghanistan’s real economic picture, stressing that the country’s economic situation will further improve in care the international community removes sanctions on Afghanistan. The current economic situation of Afghanistan is completely satisfactory and it’s all because of the sound economic policy of the Islamic Emirate, continued counter-corruption drive, efforts and unprecedented commitment of the Islamic Emirate to the development of the country. With this all achievements and development, it seems that Afghanistan will witness further economic development in the near future. Abu Sufia
