Parti VII

As the supreme leader of the Islamic Emirate, Mullah Akhtar Mohammad Mansour was always thinking of the country’s issues and monitoring media to be aware of Afghanistan’s incidents. He had also tasked one of his colleagues to monitor international media and share him Afghanistan-related news and comments. One of his close friends ‘Haji Aghajan’ says that Mullah Mansour was trying his best to be aware of all the changes at any circumstances. “After the whole day meeting of the IEA leading council, Mullah Mansour, instead of going to bed instructed the tasked team to review all news sites to see what’s going on in the country,” Aghajan said. According to Aghajan, when Mullah Mansour heard of something, he was then looking for the fact; for example, after hearing about any explosion, civilian casualties, complaints about mujahidin, beating incident by mujahidin, he would order the IEA relevant personnel to identify the perpetrators for legal action. In most of such cases, the perpetrators were disarmed, imprisoned and introduced to jud cial organs of the Islamic Emirate. Before martyrdom, Mullah Akhtar Mohammad Mansour was living with his close mujahid colleagues in a remote area between Helmand and Nimroz. Mullah Aghajan, who was close to Mullah Mansour during that time period, says the time period he was with Mullah Mansour was the most favorite and sweetest memory of his life as the IEA leader was living as a simple and ordinary mujahid in his homeland’s simple and poor hut. Mullah Akhtar Mohammad Mansour, along with his eight close friends, was living in the respective remote between Helmand and Nimroz, where they were living as ordinary mujahidin of the Islamic Emirate so that their residential area was not exposed. They were also travelling around when it was needed. During this time period, Mullah Mansour did not meet his mujahidin face to face but shared his order or verdicts through his special representatives, and if internet was working in area he usually went to, he contacted his colleagues through emails and whatsapps and shared his messages with them. In his residential home, he also read books despite of official and daily works or went out to see daily works of the people and activities of his mujahidin. Mullah Mansour was living in his home country and area which was being controlled by mujahidin. Nevertheless, the then local and international media were spreading the propaganda that Mullah Mansour was living in Iran or Pakistan, while their accusation was baseless. Before martyrdom, the then supreme leader of the Islamic Emirate had chosen the same life late Mullah Mohammad Omar Mujahid had chosen. Eventually, the then supreme leader of the Islamic Emirate and the country’s patriot mujahid was targeted by US drone and martyred. According to part of the statement of Islamic Emirate leading council issued in connection with the martyrdom of Mullah Mansour, Mullah Akhtar Mohammad Mansour was martyred in a US drone attack in outskirts of Kandahar’s Registan and Baluchistan’s Noshki area on Saturday, 21st May 2016.
