A glance at life of Shaheed Mullah Akhtar Mohammad Mansour

Mullah Akhtar Mohammad Mansour, the second Supreme Leader of the Islamic Emirate, was an effective, influenced and proficient figure. He had all the capabilities and particular characteristics for leading the Islamic Emirate. Piety, honesty, jihadi vision, political tact and discipline were his working characteristics. Shaheed Mullah Akhtar Mohammad Mansour was following the step of late Mullah Mohammad Omar Mujahdi for implementing jihadi activities. His jihadi goal was to free Afghanistan from the US-led NATO invasion and establish an Islamic system in the country. He heard sound advises of his colleagues, used to give responsibility to experienced figures and trust them before they were given the responsibility and always asked all those re sponsible to be kind to the people. He was always stressing that the Islamic Emirate was a common home of all Afghans and all should see themselves in it. Some close colleagues of Mullah Mansour say that he was a sincere, humble and brave figure. He liked to be simple human. According to Mullah Abdul Baqi Akhund, during the time period, Mullah Mansour was minister, he used to travel to provinces by city buses as other ordinary Afghans. “Mullah Mansour treated his inferiors as his close friends and colleagues and respected them,” Mullah Abdul Baqi added. Haji Aghajan, who was one of the closest friends of Mullah Akhtar Mohammad Mansour, says Mullah Mansour was very trustee as he was always available although his life was at risk. According to Haji Aghajan, there might have been two times he was disconnected from their colleagues for a short period of time when he was once deputy of the Islamic Emirate and then the Supreme Leader of the IEA. “Mullah Akhtar Mohammad Mansour was living as an ordinary person. Once I saw him in an old vehicle of his own. I told him I would buy a new car as it’s broken. He answered: “I do respect the IEA’s article which says ‘mujahidin should live like ordinary people’. If I respect this article and live as an ordinary mujahid, other mujahidin will definitely choose simple life.” Mullah Fathullah, the son of Mullah Akhtar Mohammad Mansour, says his father was always stressing on receiving education and saying that talent is needed for good service and education is necessary to serve the people and Islam. He says one of Mullah Mansour’s great aspirations was martyrdom and he said almost two months before his martyrdom. From the point of religion, Mullah Akhtar Mohammad Mansour was the supporter of Imam Azam Abu Hanifa and much knew about the current political changes happening in the world and region. He was very interested in reading the life of our Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and his four caliphs. Despite all administrative engagement and jihadi activities, he was following the media and did share his suggestion and consultation with the Islamic Emirate’s cultural and publication team for better publication and broadcasting activities.
