The number of those infected with COVID-19 virus has been on constant rise in the northern Kunduz province and more than 700 positive cases have been registered in the province over the past one month, head of provincial health department Mohammad Shafiq Sadeq said Sunday.
“We have registered 727 positive cases of COVID-19 in Kunduz province over the past one month and the number of affected people with the virus has been on rise,” Sadeq revealed in meeting with staff of civil hospital here.
Warning of fast spread of the virus in the province, head of the provincial public health department has urged the people to follow the health entities’ guidelines and wear mask whenever come out of their houses.
He also called upon people to take the immunity vaccine of the novel corona virus.
The official also noted that only a 30-bed hospital for providing medical treatment to COVIED-19 patients is operational in Kunduz province; while 65 patients are hospitalized there currently. More than 7,700 people have reportedly died due to COVID-19 in Afghanistan since January 2020 in the war-torn country.
