KABUL: Distribution process of Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan aids has been started in Jawzjan.
The aids have been distributed to 6,000 vulnerable and needy families in the province.
Mawlavi Sharafuddin Muslim, Deputy Minister of Natural Disaster Management, in his visit to Jawzjan’s Faizabad district says the humanitarian aids have been provided by Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan for the families affected by continued drought in provincial capital and the districts.
According to the deputy minister, the foodstuffs including flour, biscuit, munk bean, chocolate and gas have been distributed to the families.
Muslim added that in consideration to increasing poverty in the province, the aids were not sufficient, asking for more aids.
Meanwhile, a number of tribal elders and affected and vulnerable families who have received the aids have asked for continuation of the aids as the situation is concerning and the prices of foodstuffs have unprecedentedly increased and most people are unemployed.
It is worth mentioning that distribution of humanitarian aids is underway in most provinces and districts across Afghanistan, where thousands of miserable and affected families have received the assistance.
