MAZAR-E-SHARIF: Afghanistan counter-drug police arrested five people on the charge of dealing and trafficking drugs in northern Balkh province late on Monday, the provincial police office said in a statement on Tuesday.
Based on a tip off, counter-drug police launched a search operation, arresting five drug dealers in various parts of Mazar-i-Sharif city, the capital of Balkh province, said the statement.
An amount of drugs has also been seized from them during the operation, the statement said.
Early on Sunday this week, police arrested at least nine people on the charge of different crimes including armed theft, using hand grenades and disturbing public orders.
