Mawlavi Abdul Rahman Rahmani, head of Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat, in the accountability program to the nation said that 42 percent of the country’s population has no access to electricity.
“Afghanistan is a country where 42 percent of people do not have access to electricity and imports 80 percent of its electricity from neighboring countries as Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and Iran.
According to DABS, Afghanistan is still facing with lack of energy. Head of the Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat further said that the electricity company was working to convince the donor countries to financially help Afghanistan so that it can construct more dams to further generate electricity.
The company is planning to somehow convince the private sector to invest on major electricity-producing projects in the country.
Based on information of the respective company, renewable energy development projects, renovation and repairing of basic equipment and other producing installations are part of the programs of Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat.
Meanwhile, Deputy Minister of Water and Energy Mujib Rahman Omar by briefing related to programs of the ministry said the remaining construction work on Kajaki dam in Helmand, Kamal Khan dam in Nimroz and Shah wa Orus dam in Kabul has started already.
He added that the survey and sketches of 10 small and major dams have been started in Paktia province, saying that construction work on Tori dam in Zabul has also been resumed in the province. Kohistani and Qarizada
