ASADABAD: At least one person has been killed and two others injured as a result of flash floods in the country’s eastern province of Kunar, the provincial Natural Disaster Management Department said in a statement the other day. “Tens of homes, hundreds of acres of agriculture land, check dams and roads have also been destroyed due to the natural disaster in Asadabad, Shaigal, Sarkano, Watapur, Khas Kunar and Nurgal districts of the province,” the statement said. The victims have asked the government and aid-providing organizations for support. Abdul Wahab, a resident of Sarkano area, said: “My house was totally destroyed due to flash floods asking the government for support in rebuilding the shelter.” This comes that the country’s Metrology department have warned against heavy rainfall, thunderstorm and flash floods in eight provinces of the country.
