2nd road to be built in Turkham border town

KABUL: The construction process of a second transport vehicles road, linking Afghanistan to the neighboring Pakistan was kicked off in the Turkham border town of Nangarhar province, said a statement of Ministry for Public Works released Monday.
Aimed at reducing traffic jam at the border town, the road with a length of 1,100 meters, costing over 10 million Afghani (some $112,800) is being built in the heavily crowded Turkham port, the statement added. The ceremony was attended by some authorities and provincial officials, according to statement.
Financed by Afghanistan Ministry of Public Works, the project would be completed within couple of months, the statement added.
Meanwhile, the economic meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar on the chair, instructed the commission to construct economic zones and also prepare plan for construction of transportation stations and bus terminals in all provinces of the country.
