KABUL: A total of 190 Afghan refugees earlier prisoned by Pakistani officials, have recently been released in Sindh state of the neighboring country of Pakistan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement the other day.
“As a result of the efforts of the Embassy of Afghanistan in Islamabad and the Consulate General of the country in Karachi, 190 Afghans have been released from the Sindh prison of that country, the statement quoted.
The released refugees were sent to their home country, according to the ministry’s statement adding all costs of the prisoners including transportation, food, water and clothing were provided by the embassy in accordance with the instructions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan.
Recently 1893 Afghan prisoners have been released from different prisons of Pakistan which were prisoned on charge of not having legal documents and returned to their country so far.
Earlier, Iran handed over some Afghan prisoners to the Islamic Emirate at the request of the Afghan government.
